Team teach with a diverse collection of meriSTEMÂ experts
meriSTEM is powered by experts – university students, professors, and STEM educators volunteer their time and energy to produce complete flipped classroom materials conforming to the Australian Curriculum.
By incorporating the meriSTEM resources in lessons and homework, teachers are inviting this team into the classroom. Students get to know and learn from not just a single classroom teacher, but also from presenters of different genders, ages, accents and backgrounds. meriSTEM aims to increase the visibility of experts who don’t fit the old ‘scientist’ stereotype.
Students are enjoying the diversity of meriSTEM presenters:
92% of students using meriSTEM in 2019 identified that ‘learning from diverse presenters as well as my classroom teacher improved my interest in the concepts’.
